caldina GT4

Super Wagon - Toyota Caldina GT4
The GT-Four "Name" has been reborn in the new Caldina 2.0 GT-Four. This is the same style of vehicle known as the Matrix here in the US. It's powered by a 4th Generation 3S-GTE pumping out 260ps (254HP) through a full time All Wheel Drive system. This opens all sorts of doors for us. Is there a 1% chance that this could be the next "All Trac Matrix" in the USA? Most likely not, but it at least breathes more life into the 3S line and what parts will be available for us. The Caldina has been around for years with a 3SGTE heartbeat, but it was a completely different car in previous versions. With the new Caldina so closely resembling the Matrix, it makes us wonder.

With the Toyota Caldina being a JDM car it is very hard to get a credible english written review of the car. However Hezeri Samsuri of Cars, Bikes and Trucks recently had his hands on the third generation Toyota Caldina GT4. Real his first impression below.BELIEVE it or not, the first Caldina was actually the station-wagon version of the 1992 Toyota Corona in Japan. Then Toyota shifted its target market from fishmongers and pasar malam traders to young fathers. The second generation model has its own unique design with one offered in Active Sports GT-T guise, complete with a 256hp 3S-GTE engine and AWD. That really turned heads. The third generation, which we have here, was launched in 2002 and production stopped in 2007. The GT-T really changed the Caldina name plate and Toyota has turned it into a full blown sports wagon. For the full review read it on http://www.cbt.com.my/.
